WALK TO THE GROTTA AZZURRA

DURATION: 50 MINUTES
TOTAL DISTANCE: 3.4 KM
ELEVATION GAIN: 126 M
STARTING POINT: PARKING LOT OF ZUMELLE CASTLE
RECOMMENDED SHOE: RUSH 2 GTX

The hike to the Grotta Azzurra is the ideal destination for those looking for a walk in Veneto that alternates between relax and trekking. It is located in the province of Belluno, in Mel, hidden in the woods of Valbelluna. A corner of paradise with green and blue colors, surrounded by rocks and nature.
Getting there is not difficult, but not to be underestimated either. You need to cross a small stream by stepping on rocks, which in some sections are slippery, so we recommend having the right hiking shoes. To reach it from Zumelle Castle, take the small road of the themed artistic trail, following the signs for the Grotta Azzurra. After a few hundred meters, you will reach the paved road, which you must follow downhill until the next bend where there is a sign indicating the beginning of the path. You will enter the forest and, following the white and blue signs, arrive at your destination. Before reaching it, you will also encounter a wonderful waterfall with crystal-clear waters. Swimming is prohibited in the area in order to preserve the delicate ecosystem. In summer, sunlight reflects directly on the water, creating a beautiful play of colors and shades—don’t miss it!

WALK TO LAKE SORAPIS

DURATION: 2 HOURS
TOTAL DISTANCE: 12.07 KM
ELEVATION GAIN: 300 M
STARTING POINT: PASSO TRE CROCI
RECOMMENDED SHOE: MOJITO TRAIL GTX

Ready for one of the most beautiful mountain hikes in Veneto? Lake Sorapis, with its blue waters, is one of the most famous lakes in Italy. It is located in Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the province of Belluno. Every year, this corner of paradise attracts thousands of tourists, intrigued by the beautiful photos they find online. It is one of the most extraordinary places you can visit within the Dolomites, and you can reach it on foot after a few hours of walking.
It is not a route to be underestimated: you will need to pass narrow and exposed sections, some equipped with handrails, and a series of steps not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo. But if you pay attention and wear the right hiking shoes, nothing will be impossible, and we are sure you will enjoy one of the most beautiful spectacles you have ever seen. There are several trails to reach the lake, but we recommend trail no. 215. The path is very well marked and it is impossible to get lost—just follow the signs to Rifugio Vandelli. Once you arrive, the view before your eyes will be unmatched. The turquoise water seems unreal and changes depending on the weather and the reflections of the sun. Swimming is prohibited, although that does not make much difference, as the water temperature is not inviting! All that’s left is to relax and admire this natural wonder.

WALK TO LAKE CORLO

DURATION: 3 HOURS
TOTAL DISTANCE: 13 KM
ELEVATION GAIN: 400 M
STARTING POINT: OLD BELL TOWER, ROCCA
RECOMMENDED SHOE: RUSH TRAIL GTX

If you are looking for an easy walk in Veneto, we have just the thing for you. Lake Corlo is an artificial basin located in Arsiè, in the province of Belluno. A fascinating lake, like a Norwegian fjord, just a few kilometers from the Venetian plain.
For those who love walking, the lakeside route is unmissable. It is a ring route starting from the hamlet of Rocca and lasts about 3 hours, during which you will cross abandoned villages and waterfalls. On some trails, it is possible to organize horseback excursions. For those who prefer relax, you can sunbathe, fish, or enjoy a picnic in the open air.
Swimming is not allowed, but pedal boats, SUPs, and canoes can be rented to admire its beautiful shores. If you are looking for the thrill of adventure, you can try paragliding. The best point to observe this beautiful lake is the Ponte della Vittoria. Built in 1928, it features a wooden walkway supported by steel cables anchored to historic stone towers. Lake Corlo is the ideal destination to spend a day of total relax between nature and trekking. Although it is a very simple hike, always remember to wear the right hiking shoes.
