Philipp Ausserhofer

A heart beating to the rhythm of the mountains

Philipp Ausserhofer was born in 1992 and carries deep roots in South Tyrol. Raised among the peaks of the Ahrntal Valley, he studied in Innsbruck and since 2021 has made Stubai his adopted home. A pharmacist by profession but above all a trail runner, Philipp does not come from classic athletics: his school has always been the mountains, the alpine terrain where he learned everything that defines him as an athlete and as a person.

Running far, exploring his limits, and overcoming them is what drives him every day to wake up with a smile. For him, ultrarunning is not just a sport but a way of life, made of climbs and descents, moments of introspection, and the emotions of finish lines all over the world.

Passionate about all alpine disciplines – from ski mountaineering to paragliding, from skiing to training along Tyrolean ridges – he considers the mountains his true playground. It is there that he finds versatility, calm, and strength, guiding him not only in races but in every adventure he chooses to live.

FKT on the “Stubaier Hohenweg” (2023) – Record on the iconic 78 km route with 6,000 m+, improving the previous mark by 54 minutes.
