Emma Stuart at the SCARPA Athlet's meet in Elba Island

Emma Stuart was born on the Isle of Man and has become a true revelation in international ultrarunning. She came to running late, starting only in 2018 after a life far removed from athletics. What began almost as a game soon turned into an all-consuming passion: from her first steps in half marathons, Emma quickly moved towards ultras, discovering that it was over long distances that she could truly shine.

Her debut at the 2019 Manx Mountain Marathon (50 km), where she took a surprising 2nd place in the women’s category, proved to be a turning point. From that moment on, she collected victories and top finishes in some of the UK’s toughest and most iconic races, standing out for her mental strength and endurance. A farm animal veterinarian by profession, she manages to balance an intense job with her sporting passion, turning long days in the stables into an alternative form of training for the resilience ultrarunning also demands.

For Emma, running means freedom: a simple and natural way to discover breathtaking landscapes and restore inner balance. In ultras, she has found the perfect ground to test not only her body, but above all her mental toughness.
