SCARPA's Trail runners at the annual Athlet’s Meet on Elba Island

An event that has now become a tradition for our Trail Running team athletes

From March 10 to 13, 2025, the Island of Elba provided the backdrop for our Athlet’s Meet: a unique opportunity for our athletes to come together, train as a group in preparation for the imminent start of the new racing season, share their seasonal goals and, above all, discover the extraordinary natural beauty of one of the most fascinating places in Italy.

Aurelien Dunand Pallaz, Elisa Desco and many other leading figures

This year, the gathering saw the participation of almost all the athletes from the international team, including Elisa Desco, the French runner Aurelien Dunand Pallaz, the young and talented Marcos Villamuera, and the English athlete Emma Stuart. A total of 20 athletes from six different nations were guided through each activity by local runner Matteo Anselmi, who lives on Elba. Acting as team leader, Matteo led the athletes to discover the island’s most spectacular locations, offering them a unique and unforgettable experience, combining breathtaking nature with pure adrenaline.

A special guest: Erik Ahlström

The meeting was enriched by the presence of a special guest: Erik Ahlström, renowned environmentalist and founder of the plogging discipline. Erik guided our athletes in a plogging session in the municipality of Marciana Marina, an activity that combines a passion for running with environmental care, thus bringing together sport and sustainability in a single experience.

Not just plogging in this Athlet’s Meet program

After completing the Plogging Run in Marciana Marina, the athletes had the chance to explore other fascinating places such as Porto Azzurro, Capoliveri, and Marciana, each offering unique experiences between unspoiled nature and spectacular views. The activities were varied and engaging: from a photo shooting at the Capoliveri Mines, a site rich in history, to a visit to Acqua dell’Elba, where they discovered local traditions and the company’s commitment to sustainability. Finally, the “Grande Attraversata Elbana,” a 13 km challenge, saw the athletes running along trails immersed in the island’s wild nature, gifting them with unforgettable views and emotions.

A unique experience among the landscapes of the Island of Elba

The Island of Elba, with its natural beauty and breathtaking trails, provided the ideal setting for our team’s gathering. Every training session and every moment shared strengthened team spirit, consolidating bonds and determination. Thanks to this experience, our athletes are now ready to face a new season, more united and motivated than ever.
