Respect for the mountains and client satisfaction

Chamex guide on Mont Blanc

Chamex – Chamonix Experience was founded in 1995 by New Zealand mountain guide Russell Brice. Six years later, the project settled permanently in the Chamonix Valley, the beating heart of world alpinism. In 2011, at Everest Base Camp, Russell met Sébastien Rougegré, a young French guide. Their instant connection made the
handover of the business feel like a true passing of the torch. Since then, Seb has been the owner of Chamex, which has grown into one of the most innovative and recognized guiding groups in the Alps.

Chamex guides come from all over the world — the United States, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Romania, England, Colombia, and of course France — but they share the same values: a passion for the mountains, respect for the environment, and dedication to their clients. The team is small and carefully selected, and decisions are made collectively, fostering a family-like atmosphere that extends to welcoming clients, always with a good coffee.

For Chamex, going to the mountains is not just a job but a philosophy of life that combines professionalism, adventure, and responsibility toward both the land and the community.
