Colin Haley sees life as an endless series of dichotomous choices: there is no single right answer, everything is a matter of balance. His philosophy is simple yet powerful — to maximize happiness through what he loves most: the mountains.
Raised in Seattle, in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, he was fortunate to
grow up surrounded by nature. The Cascade Range, while not the tallest mountains in the world, offered the perfect ground for his first steps: skiing, hiking, and learning how to use an ice axe at just ten years old. By thirteen he had his first ski touring bindings, and at fourteen he discovered climbing — opening the path to a lifetime of adventure.
Over the last decade, he has made second homes in some of the world’s alpine capitals: El Chaltén in Patagonia, Squamish in Canada, and Chamonix in France. His greatest achievements have been among Patagonia’s granite towers and Alaska’s wild peaks, establishing himself as one of the most respected alpinists of his
generation. Today, his gaze turns toward Asia, ready to channel his experience
into new challenges.
