Emily Harrop was born in 1997 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, France, to English parents. She grew up in the Tarentaise Valley, in Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, a small alpine village surrounded by wilderness and far from the rest of the world. From an early age, the mountains were her playground, nurturing a genuine passion for snow and skiing.

She first put on skis at the age of two, and by six she was already training with a club.
Throughout her childhood and adolescence, she competed in alpine skiing, dreaming of joining the French national team. But an injury changed the course of her career, leading her to discover ski mountaineering. She quickly showed a natural talent for endurance sports and began collecting strong results in World Cup races.

In 2021, a turning point came: she joined the Armée des Champions, the French military sports team, which allowed her to become a full-time professional athlete. For Emily, turning her passion into a career is a dream come true — and one that drives her to keep growing and looking ahead.
