Helio Fumo was born in 1983 in Mozambique and began his sporting career in track and field, specializing in the 800 and 1,500 meters. The turning point came in 2016, when he discovered trail running: a sudden spark that made him fall in love with the mountains and the sense of freedom they bring.

The Serra da Estrela in Portugal has since become his favorite training ground: a rural and wild environment that perfectly reflects his free spirit. Today he lives in Lisbon, where he alternates competitive running with managing a small artisanal cookie business called “Love In the Bag.” With a degree in psychology and a master’s in social organizational psychology, he is also founding a charitable trail running school.
