Liber Benjamin

Alpinism as a Journey

Benjamin ice climbing

Benjamin “Benny” Lieber is an alpine climber and expedition guide based in Alaska. With a background in product design, he radically changed his life a decade ago,
leaving his career to follow the call of the mountains. What began living in his car and climbing locally in the U.S. has turned into a path that has taken him on more than 40 expeditions worldwide.

His philosophy is built on stepping into the unknown and giving his best, embracing
uncertainty as an integral part of climbing. Today, Benny is one of the youngest and most recognized American mountain guides specializing in 8000m peaks and Vinson Massif in Antarctica, while in his personal climbing he seeks out the solitude and purity of Alaska’s quieter ranges, opening new routes and winter repeats.

At the same time, he works as a developer of cutting-edge alpine gear, focusing on ideation and field testing to refine the equipment of the next generation of mountaineers.
