Marcos Villamuera comes from a small valley in the heart of Cantabria, Spain. A sports lover since childhood, he began exploring the mountains with his father at the age of 4, and by 10 he was already running on the trails near his home. After a period practicing other sports and a few years in athletics, he finally found his true vocation in trail running. In 2024, he was selected to join the Scarpa Youth Team, becoming part of the new generation of trail running talents.

He sees races like Zegama and the Dolomyths Run not only as iconic events but as goals to pursue for their history, atmosphere, and beauty. Convinced of the importance of team spirit, he believes that “no objective or challenge is impossible, and the cohesion of a team makes it easier to achieve them.”
