Mountaineering - France

Mathis Dumas

One life

Mathis Dumas was born in 1993 in Ardèche, France, but found his home in Chamonix, at the very heart of the Alps. At the age of 14, he was captivated by the dazzling yet dangerous beauty of frozen waterfalls, a turning point that led him toward a life of exploration, iconic ascents, and constant discovery.

For him, alpinism is above all about exploration: every new route is an adventure that reignites his passion and pushes him beyond his limits. After competing in ice
climbing, he chose to become a mountain guide, with the goal of sharing the mountains with others.

Alongside guiding, Mathis is also a photographer and high-altitude reporter: his creative eye allows him to combine technical climbs with powerful storytelling,
transforming demanding ascents into visual narratives that inspire and celebrate the wild beauty of the mountains.
