The Energy of Adventure

Will Gadd ice climbing

Will Gadd is one of the world’s greatest outdoor athletes, leaving his mark across disciplines such as ice climbing, paragliding, and mountaineering. Born and raised in the Canadian Rockies, he started climbing with his parents and has never stopped pushing his limits, winning world titles, setting records, and opening new routes in some of the planet’s most extreme environments.

A world champion in ice climbing and an X Games winner, Will has redefined the sport with groundbreaking achievements — from the first ascent of extreme icefalls
like Musashi to the world distance record in paragliding. Beyond results, he is known for his safe, creative, and contagiously enthusiastic approach to adventure.

A writer, communicator, and face of numerous TV and film projects, he has always avoided the desk whenever possible, living by his philosophy: to explore the “third
rock from the sun” with curiosity and passion.

For Will, the motto No Place Too Far carries a meaning far deeper than a simple slogan. The first time he saw it on a Scarpa boot box, he felt those words were an invitation to push beyond boundaries, to explore new possibilities, and to see the world with different eyes.

“Those words have become a kind of Koan for me: they don’t make logical sense, but they open the mind. Every time I open a new box, I think about all the ‘too far’ places I could go. It’s both a physical and metaphysical encouragement to look farther, live deeper, and believe that everything is possible.”
