Xavier Gachet

In the Spirit of the Pierra Menta

Ski Mountaineering SCARPA ambassador Xavier Gachet

Xavier Gachet was born in 1989 in Albertville, in the Savoie region of France. After studying electrical engineering, he began working as an electrician and is now a section manager at the Arêches-Beaufort ski resort. At the same time, he nurtured his passion for ski mountaineering, inspired by his father, who competed in twenty editions of the legendary Pierra Menta, finishing fourth in 1997. Following in his tracks, Xavier found his own path in the sport.

He began competing as a Cadet in 2005, and since then he has taken part in eight editions of the World Cup, becoming a veteran of the international circuit and earning several podiums. His career reflects perseverance, experience, and a genuine love for the mountains. For Xavier, the dream is to continue living this way for as long as possible: combining high-level sport, family, and work.
