Robert Antonioli was born in 1990 in Sondalo, in the province of Sondrio, and has always lived in Valfurva, a small village in the Stelvio National Park. Outdoor sport is part of his family’s DNA: his father, a ski instructor, introduced him to snow and mountains from an early age. As a child he preferred the thrill of downhill skiing, but at 16 he discovered ski mountaineering as his true vocation: the freedom to train whenever he wanted, choosing times and terrain, and living the mountains on his own terms.

After his first outings with his father, he joined the Cai and later the Alta Valtellina Ski Club, where results soon arrived. He quickly entered the Alpi Centrali committee, then the national team, and finally the Italian Army Sports Centre. That was the moment when a lifelong passion truly became his profession, allowing him to compete at the highest international level.
